There was a time when Madhuri Dixit ruled over almost every youth's heart. People simply went crazy over that number, 'Dhak Dhak karne laga', from the movie, Beta. I too was a part of the herd who followed her. Time passed. Today, I am no longer a teenager who would literally swoon over the sight of Madhuri Dixit on the celluloid. My tastes too have changed, and I am more like the youth of today. Madhuri decided, for good or bad, to make a comeback with her movie "Aaja nachle", which got involved in some caste controversy. I have not seen the movie, but obviously Madhuri committed a great faux pas by deciding to making a comeback. Comebacks are usually disasters. Mumtaz, who once had a great fan following didn't click with her comeback movie, 'Aandhiyan', in the eighties.
I was a great fan of Madhuri in her heydays, but ever since she left Bollywood for connubial bliss with hubbie, Nene, a surgeon in NYC, we missed her performances, umpteen of them prior to deciding to tie the knot. I always wish her best in whatever endeavor she decides to take for herself.
